PS: If OK, I will edit this post from time to time to add more links
about the DM42 and math/logic/RPN/... in general, which I found interesting.

Hello!

That's my site! Thanks for linking to it. I'm a tabletop game designer who has recently (within the past 4 or 5 years) fallen in love with math and RPN calculators in general. And I'm currently obsessed with the DM42.

Hi Epidiah,

Nice to read you! :)
Welcome to this forum! :)

I like very much what you wrote about the DM42 and about the appealing character
of RPN.
You wrote, that you are no to so much in programming as such but like programming
your calx a lot.

It could be, that you will have similiar fun with programming as such by choosing
a programming language, which have a similiar character like RPN/FOCAL.
It uses prefix notation instead of postfix notation - so it is the "PN" version of RPN
(or RRPN if you want).

May be "racket" could interest you:
www.racket.org

It's open source, super well documented and has it's own IDE -- which you
are NOT urged to use in any way.

Have fun!
Cheers!

The www.racket.org link didn't work for me. Is this the same place? https://racket-lang.org/

I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!

If you like RPN or RPL, you may be interested in some of the family of so called concatenative languages.

Hi Epidiah,

Yes,yes,yes YES :)
My fault, sorry!

www.racket-lang.org is correct.
If you want a pure COMMON LISP implementation, check out http://www.sbcl.org/ (GPL).
It is high quality and the net is full of COMMON LISP stuff including tutorials, programs and such.
But is "terminal only" and racket is a modern approach to the LISPy family of programming languages.
But if you want something to bend you mind and brain...you know..."There is no spoon which bends...instead..." ;)

Cheers!

I missed this when I first responded to the thread. I'll have to check that out, too!
