Library of images to use as OFFIMG screens on the DM41X and DM42
Forum rules
Do you have a creative streak? Post your OFFIMG photos here.
Images MUST be in Windows-NT .bmp format at a resolution of 400x240 pixels and 1-bit colour depth or they will not be displayed by the DM42. Images that do not meet this requirement will be removed from the forum
However, the point is to avoid posting images to the forum in order to avoid taking up filesystem space on SwissMicros' server.
The downside of this policy is guaranteed link rot.
Are you seriously worried about the few megabytes that even hundreds of 400x240x1 bitmaps would consume?
Does Mac allow saving in a different format? When I right-click the image on the forum in WIndows, it gives me the option to save it in either png or bmp format so allowing png files to be posted shouldn't be much problem for Windows users at least.
If you Save As... to a .bmp file in windows, the resulting file is a color .bmp file (although possibly with only black pixels) which will not work on the DM42. It may be possible to change that to b&w (1-bit depth), but this usually also causes graphical changes, spoiling the image.

Indeed, really?
Just use a DM42 as external USB disk...

You can share image links from almost any file sharing service without an account. The problem is showing the file directly in a message that we can download and use without having to go to an external link. Dropbox requires a paid account for that. Does imgur?

DropBox are stopping that feature as of Friday this week. They've just lost this customer because the public folder was the reason I was paying them £80/year. I'm now using an Amazon S3 bucket.
