I found no documentation what D + ON does - so I tried.

X:65536 (2^16) -> 0.001019 -00
X: 2^32 -> -5.802411 -0 (yes, just one digit in the exponent, with one space left behind)
X: 2^19 -> 0.001414 -00 (yes, two zeros)
funny:
X: 2^20 -> 0.001804 O2 (exponent first digit is an 'O' as in ERROR).
X: 2^17 -> 0.000240524. After 2 times X<>Y i get a flashing 9.999999 99

You've discovered a know bug in the original HP-15C ROM that allows non-normalized numbers (NNNs) to be created by pressing ON-y^x simultaneously. Here's an article with more information on Eric's site:
