Problem with V26 FW update

Post by cappy »

I've just tried updating the FW on my DM41, unsuccessfully.
After pressing the program button on the updater tool and pressing the reset button, I could see the updater tool
progress bar moving, After a minute or so I saw MEMORY LOST on the calculator (which I assume is normal),
but there were no prompts as to when to press the reset button again.

After waiting several minutes, I pressed reset and saw that the old FW version (V22) was still in the DM41.

Has anyone else had problems doing the update?

Just when are we supposed to press the reset button the second time?
Will the updated prompt us for that?

The FW update instructions really need to be revised.

I have also problems updating my DM42L (to V27),
see viewtopic.php?f=10&p=8880#p8880
the progress bar never started moving.
The calculator displayed "SERIAL CONSOLE" after pressing Reset, but the
Update never started.

@Michael, Swissmicros:
are there any tipps and suggestions?

You sometimes have to press the RESET button more than once. The timing does seem a bit fickle but it does work in the end.

BTW, I take it you meant you were trying to update your DM41L to V27?
There are only 10 kinds of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who do not.

In my case, I believe the problem was due to a poor quality USB hub

Yes, you're right, my DM41L.
Now with success, using another USB port on the laptop -
I have no idea what's different about the connection.

My notebook does not have a hub, but using another USB port solved the problem,
many thanks for your answer!
