I must report that the firmware update tool advertized isn't accessible anymore:
"The requested URL /tools/swissmicros_calculator_firmware_update_tool.exe was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
Please repair or update. TIA

... and while we're at it: Please also update the firmware links on http://www.swissmicros.com/firmware.php - you get v23 only via "see all files" so far.

V23 was visible at approximately 15:00 CEST, when I had a quick word with Michael about it.Walter wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2017 4:47 pm... and while we're at it: Please also update the firmware links on http://www.swissmicros.com/firmware.php - you get v23 only via "see all files" so far.

The links should be OK on the /firmware.php page now. There were a few changes made but the links didn't followWalter wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2017 4:33 pmI must report that the firmware update tool advertized isn't accessible anymore:

Try again now using the links on that page. Maybe clear your browser cache just to be on the safe side.

Re: Flashing firmware v23
FYI - As of 14:25 (UTC-4:00) today, the links do work and the file "swissmicros_LPC11xx_firmware_tool.zip" downloads OK, however it is not a valid .zip file, and can't be extracted. Verified several times.
Is this a new or different version of the f/w update tool and is this new version required, or can the same one used for the DM1x machines for recent years still be safely used for this new v23?

Re: Flashing firmware v23
I updated my DM41 firmware to V23 last night without having to download the USB drivers or firmware update tool again.rprosperi wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2017 8:26 pmFYI - As of 14:25 (UTC-4:00) today, the links do work and the file "swissmicros_LPC11xx_firmware_tool.zip" downloads OK, however it is not a valid .zip file, and can't be extracted. Re: Flashing firmware v23
Got it. I know what the problem is and I'll get Michael to fix it. I don't have access to the swissmicros.com server so he'll have to do that.
The existing tool that we've been using for a while should be able to flash V23 anyway. I used it for the test versions and for the final V23 on my units.

Try again Bob. Sorry about that.

Re: Flashing firmware v23
Seems to be working fine now, the .zip downloads and "dm1x_41_updater.exe" can be extracted (and now, the link changes color after access, this was not happening before)
No problem for me, as I have the older tool, I was just trying to confirm if it was fixed so folks would know it's not them if there's a problem.
It seems only the name has been changed so folks don't try using it with the DM42, the file sizes (new and old versions) are identical.
Thanks for closely monitoring the forums and quick fixes to make it available. I'm sure hundreds of DM1x users will need to urgently install this f/w update immediately to be able set their clocks from the keyboard. We all have different kinds of emergencies and priorities....

The clock setting thing is a "nice to have" feature that was added in this release, which does actually correct two bugs.
Firstly, the [ON]+[<-] master reset wasn't working on the DM41 but is now.
Secondly, the fact that the CPU's S register wasn't part of the dump meant that writing a dump tp a DM12 would systematically set the calculator's "BEGIN" mode of TVM calculations and have the corresponding annunciator show on the display. You could even do a reset on the machine, dump the newly cleared memory and then rewrite it back to the calculator, and the BEGIN annunciator would still show. Not a real problem because you can see that something's wrong straight away but what if it was something that you couldn't see?...
This latest change also led to me having to update the Nut decoder page but we left the previous format as the default (the "V11-compatible" checkbox). After a while, once the majority of users have had a chance to update to firmware V23 we'll reverse that and make a V23-compatible dump the norm.
