Speaker in DM15L

Post by Krauts In Space »

My calc has a speaker, surely for the DM41L flavor of Swissmicros' Voyagers.
Despite my device isn't a 41L, can I make the speaker work?

Hi,
The HP-1xC instruction set does not include a way to add a beep/tone. There is no room for such an instruction.

We could use a register that would be "connected" to the buzzer and a firmware setting ([ON] + [Something] to toggle the setting) to enable/disable this register to indirect beep/tones.

And it would be also a great improvement if we could add, on top of the existing time and date settings of the DM1x, a way to program alarm(s) (that would than use the buzzer) thru the firmware.

Sincerely,
Boubker.

Given that the DM1XL is a clone of the HP1Xc, I think adding functionality is generally beyond the remit of those devices... my guess.

SM managed to add :
- multiple speeds
- multiple fonts
- time and date
- USB console to download/upload programs

So why won't we dream about more features in the DM1x series :D
PS: I am sure that the features are only limited by availability of the (small) team and not imagination
