Re: And still it keeps on going

LOL :) Yes, I did replace the battery after that. Not only did I want to see how the machine behaved with so little power available but I also wanted to see something that I'm surprised nobody else picked up on. Look at the battery icon in that screenshot... Having seen the source code for how the s...

Re: And still it keeps on going

You're preaching to the choir :)

I was deliberately running the battery down to see how the machine behaved with such a low power supply.

Re: What is saved as a 'State'?

The machine state does what it says on the tin. It saves everything needed for the calculator to find itself back in the same state when you re-load the state file. This includes all programs, variables, flags, display contents, alpha register...

Re: HEX mode logic operation on a sequence with alpha digits

Using the CUSTOM menu is actually a very good idea! With so many functions crammed into a machine with only one shift key on the keyboard (the 48 and 50 both have more keys, two of them are shift keys and there's an alpha key as well) more stuff has to be staffed off into menus, which can make this ...

Re: Famous equations

If I may ask, why don't you (whoever the admin is) like these images on your server? They are not very big. It's not so much to do with the size of the attachments as it is to do with their potential number. Each file on a Linux server uses one inode regardless of the size of the file. The forum is...

Images are not visible here (USA), though it appears Walter can see them. Anyone else having trouble seeing them?
Must be a USA thing. Perfectly visible here in the UK.

Don't know if I want my initials on the tail of anything ... ;)
"Tail" does not have the same meaning in English slang as it does in German (or French for that matter...) :)

Re: DM41-L How to Read date

Strangely enough, the DATE function does that.

It returns in register X the current date in either d.mmyyyy or m.ddyyyy format depending on your current DMY or MDY setting.

Re: Two questions

1st) I want a controlled end of my program by polling EXIT key via GETK and jump to a label for clearing stack, flags, etc. How to get this? GETK delivers keycode 33 but also quits execution. I could press R/S, but ... KEY 9 GTO xx achieves this if you want to organise your program into a menu-driv...

Re: Noob Questions

Once upon a time, many months ago, there was ... an update planned. ;) Once upon a time, in 1927 in fact, there was a member of Rotary Club in Norwich (East of the UK) called Louis Marchesi. He was in his late twenties at the time and he thought that this Rotary thing was great except for the avera...
