Re: Just for the fun of it...the savage benchmark
Ok, so I have made some changes to my code, and I believe the core of it matches gsrbanks'. Due to differences in how we calculate accuracy, I understand how that is different. The differences in elapsed time is what I wish to resolve. Un-plugged gsrbanks is at 14.08 sec, I am at 20.89 Plugged gsrba...

Re: A few to get you started
But if I rename, so that it is not .bmp, then it would be at best a corrupt file, that will not load on the calculator. To get this uploaded, I converted the file to PNG, but once downloaded, a person would have to convert it to BMP. As a PNG it uses even less space than BMP, but.... From up top &qu...

Re: Just for the fun of it...the savage benchmark
I guess it is that I knew what you were doing with DSE ST Y or T or what have you, but I cannot figure out how to access that on my DM42, all I could manage was DSE, which allowed a 2 digit number. but I think it works fine the way I wrote it, but the end time is different, by a rather large margin....

Re: A few to get you started
Walter, good to know but, now that I found the button to attach files, it says that the DONTPANIC.bmp has an invalid file extension.

Re: Just for the fun of it...the savage benchmark
I took my own go at this, but I got different results. gsrbanks, I did not follow your command at line 21, nor did I understand the last few lines you did. The code I used: 01▸LBL "SAVAGE" 02 1 03 STO 01 04 2499 05 STO 02 06 TIME 07 →HR 08 STO 03 09 RCL 01 10▸LBL 01 11 ENTER 12 × 13 SQRT 1...

Re: A few to get you started
I am surprised that no one else did this: (link removed by jfb9301, as it didn't work, and was just more photobucket crap) (this was supposed to be a screen that would remind people of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) When I uploaded it, it was a .bmp, but now it is a .png :( It has been years since...

Re: I failed in updating firmware V3.1
Not including the QPSI might lead to some challenges. Hypothetical scenario: 3.1 no QPSI update 3.2 QPSI update 3.3 no QPSI update 3.4 no QPSI update A hypothetical user who has 3.1 installed waits a long time to update. When next they go to update 3.5 has been released. 3.5's release notes say that...

Re: buttons that don't register well
Quoted from above: "Isopropylalkohol" (German word) German is so close to the the English. You are looking for "Isopropyl Alcohol". Oddly I noted if you use Chrome as your browser it does not recognize Isopropyl as spelled correctly, but if you google search the word, google sear...
Re: DM42
We've put the most important physical constants into the WP34S and WP31S.... Absolutely Walter, both calculators have an excellent set of physical constants...I just wondered whether anyone had created a HP-42S programme which provided access to some useful constants, such that I could use it on th...

Re: Self Test on DM42?
I didn't know that free42 would not support it. Though maybe I should have, as it will not work on Free42 on my android phone. I'm not so sure about all the Pioneers having common instructions. My HP32s does not have a [EXIT] key and [C]+[LN] as mentioned in the instructions does not perform a self ...
