Re: DM41L program load ?
Thanks for reporting back. I was rather stumped by this problem but now that you mention you're using a Mac, it makes sense. My guess is that there was something wrong with the line endings being sent by the terminal emulator. The DM41 expects linefeed characters at the end of a line, or possibly ca...

Re: A healthy selection of HP calculators
this might be a good place to suggest a small li'l image viewer for screenshots and OFFIMG files on the calculator itself. There isn't the space for that. The DM42's ROM is getting pretty full now and we wouldn't want to include unnecessary stuff to the detriment of actual functional stuff. If you ...

Re: DM41X libusb problem
You can try the cable with another device that allows you to transfer data through a microUSB connection. Alternatively, you can procure a microUSB cable that is known to have data lines in it.

Re: DM41X libusb problem
Hi there. Two things. Firstly, there is no need to install the libusb drivers to use the DM41X (or DM42 with firmware later than V3.5) with a PC. The only thing that this was needed for was to update the firmware, and that is now done by simply copying the relevant binary to the root directory of th...

UPDATE: DMCP-3.20 / DM42-3.17
This update fixes the hypot() bug in the Intel Decimal Floating Point library. Other additions to Free42 are being folded into the DM42 as we "speak" but we wanted to get this bugfix out there without waiting. The method for updating your DM42 is covered in the manual . The latest firmware...

Re: How to prompt?
Some of that confusion can be avoided by placing quotes around strings that are supposed to be, well, strings rather than commands. So taking your example and making things a little more explicit: LBL "AREA" "R=?" CLx PROMPT STO 01 x^2 PI x RTN END Also, minor issue, if RTN is th...
