Re: DM42 Firmware V3.5 available

i think it is not so funny for those actually forgetting to connect it to USB power and the underpowered flash procedure corrupts the flash on a low level, where only a ISP or HVP can help... Meino, Do you really think that I would suggest that you do something that could stand a good chance of bri...

Quick question from a naive and inexperienced calculator user: would a memory dump from the previous version of the firmware be able to be flashed to a DM41L with the new version of the firmware?
Quick answer to a quick question: YES :)

Re: State file corrupt is REGS deleted

Are you also deleting the "REGS" variable? If so, that could be why. It shouldn't cause a problem for the machine state file but I'd like to point the developer in the right direction.

EDIT: d'oh! I should read the topic subject as well as the message itself...

Updated DM41 encoder/decoder

Head on over to http://dm41.swissmicros.com :)

This new version preserves a lot more information from the DM41 than the previous version.

Have a look at the "Quick Ref" tab for an overview of what you can see from the dump and synthesise in a new dump.

Re: Firmware V16a for legacy DM15 M80

I think you're still good do go. You can check this by putting the machine in the situation that caused the problem. Reset the machine with the [ON]+[-] key combo to get the usual "PR ERROR" Write a small program to give the integrator something to chew on: LBL A x^2 RTN ...is sufficient. ...

Re: Firmware V26 for DM1x/DM41(L) units

@grsbanks you mentionned in an earlier post a new En/De-coder for DM41(L)? I did, yes. There will be a notice put out when that's ready. David has been doing that particular encoder/decoder (I did the others) but he's been working flat out on the firmware of the various machines lately. I'll give h...

Re: Firmware V26 for DM1x/DM41(L) units

I use PuTTY to get a dump of the machine before updating. I copy/paste it to a text editor, shut down PuTTY to allow the update tool access to the COM port, do the update, fire up PuTTY again and paste the dump back into the calculator. Piece of cake :)
