Re: buttons that don't register well
I had the DM 41 (same hardware as the 15) before the 42 was available, and didn't notice any problems with the keyboard. The keyboard on the 42 is generally fine; problems seem to be the exception, rather than the rule. I wouldn't worry too much about it, it really is a beautiful product.

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.11 / DM42-3.11
Update: applied "the solution" from Michael. Using the calculator at random moments for a brief period. Battery is being used as such and we'll see where it ends the coming month. It's a vast improvement over the previous situation although I'm a little skeptical still. Let's see in a mon...

Firmware Update - High current usage
Has there been any progress on a firmware update for those of us who've been hit with high current usage on the latest firmware? I got an email from David last week that DM was working on a software fix, but haven't heard since.

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.11 / DM42-3.11
The update went flawlessly. I can confirm the bugs with y^x and ÷ are fixed. I can not relate about the battery consumption though as I didn't had the problem. I will take care of that, once at home. I won't hold my breath though since I don't see anything about power drain issues. As anticipated n...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.10 / DM42-3.10
What's strange is that it all began with: DMCP v3.9 : 2018/08/01 Small number of boards exhibited excessive power-off current - fixed Mine seems to be the only board with the reverse attitude... We've actually got a handful of machines like this now. David has them and is looking for a softwa...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.10 / DM42-3.10
Since DMCP_flash_3.9a.bin my beta unit depletes the CR2032 in a matter of hours. I was using (and still do) DMCP_flash_3.8.bin + DM42-3.9.1.pgm; this is stable and shows a normal battery wear. Alas, the new DM42-3.10.pgm needs a DMCP >= 3.9 so the update game has come to an end for me, or so it see...

Re: DM42 vs DM43S
I own only the hp35s and the wp34s. The thing I dislike the most about the wp34s is the lack of a built in MISO solver. Sure you can program your own, but it is a very steep learning curve. Even if you know how to build a MISO solver it still takes much longer to input on the WP34s vs the hp35s. Th...

Re: Petition to allow RPN calculators in UK public examinations
There are similar rules in the USA, so it's probably something that is encountered everywhere. Even beyond university there are rules about calculators. The NCEES (the group that administrates Professional Engineering testing) has a similar acceptable calculator policy. I believe it is about exam in...

Re: Hewlett Packard-IP
I am certainly not a lawyer or IP expert, and I'm sure that SM is much more sophisticated that I am, but here are a couple of observations:
1) Any design patent on a Voyager machine is long since expired.
2) HP chose not to copyright the ROMs on those machines.

What are the consequences of the lower level of code optimization? Is it slower, larger file sizes, or something else?
