Re: Bricked hardware when updating
If your FAT partition is corrupted, format it from the System menu. Activate the USB disk and copy the file DM42-3.7.1.pgm https://www.swissmicros.com/dm42/firmware/DM42-3.7.1.pgm to the root folder of the DM42 FAT partition In the DMCP Menu choose to load the program Run the program Only if it say...

Re: Bricked hardware when updating
What I meant by pressing the reset and pgm button is the sequence that you referenced. It does not enter bootloader mode. In fact the LCD screen has "snow". So is there anyway I can recover from this? Snow sounds like a broken flex ribbon to the LCD. I'm quite sure it does enter the bootl...

Re: Bricked hardware when updating
Unless there is a defect, it's almost impossible to brick it.
Press and hold PGM, then press and release RESET, release PGM.
Then use the dm_tool to flash a firmware.

Re: DM42 License Statement
Studying the code I see that the source code for 100+ functions is not included. Instead such functions are called via hard-coded pointers pointing to addresses inside what seems to be a closed source library loaded at a fixed address in memory. Can't see a way how this can be compatible with the s...

Re: DM42 License Statement
... I know, that the STM32F103 is nearly unbrickable as long as one dont plan exactly how to brick the chip. This is due to the bootloader being in the ROM and therefore not alterable. How is the situation when it comes to the DM42? That's the same with the STM32L476. On the PCB there are two butto...
