Re: DM32 faceplate keeps falling off

Send an email to Michael (michael@swissmicros.com) and describe the problem and I'm sure he can send you a new bezel/faceplate with better adhesive to install. That said, if you're handy, you can very easily and quickly fix it yourself using thin double-sided tape, of the type used to fix cellphone ...

Re: What Battery?

Note that the 2025 is not able to provide as much current as the 2032, which could be a problem if your use includes extended run-time programs (e.g. more than 20-30 seconds) as this draws far more current than interactive use. In this case, the voltage will drop too low and the device will RESET,an...

Re: Wishing You a Happy 2024!

Happy New Year! Too early to reach any conclusions Walter, the new year is less than 24 hours old.... relax... Maybe folks are busy doing other things with their friends and family over the holidays? Maybe folks don't want to reply hoping to avoid possible critique for not having replied in the expe...

Re: FIX 00 instruction in HP-41C/CV/CX programs

You're quite welcome.

I suspect you'll find that one of the first 'muscle memory' sets of keystrokes for any 41 user getting back into shape recalls is "GTO .."; it's the thing our fingers do when thinking about what we will do next...

Re: FIX 00 instruction in HP-41C/CV/CX programs

The 41 models use only a single digit for FIX (or SCI or ENG) display modes, so your memory and instincts are correct. The example program was (probably) created on an HP-42S Simulator to make printing the program listing easier. The 42S has many more features but is also mostly backward-compatible ...

Re: C47 Classic single shift, replaces C43 on DM42

Wow, a very interesting little topic, who could guess so much discussion and effort (not just for this project, but in general) could go into such a small, subtle point. I agree the latest revision shown restores the 'reading rhythm'. I'll guess the vertical adjustment is part of what (somehow) lets...

Re: C47 Classic single shift, replaces C43 on DM42

I straightened up the ! of 𝑥! for comments. I still prefer the italic in context, but do comment ;-) Oddly, and also surprisingly, for me the bang in italics feels more natural and 'easier' to read. The straight bang somehow slows my reading of it and pulls my eye to look at it more closely, as if ...

Re: Solar Time and Day of Year

Thanks for the post and sharing these files Jason.

This is exactly why this area was created and this is exactly the kind of Shared State File solution the DM32's new features had in mind.

I look forward to seeing more of these solutions, thanks for a great example to lead the way.

Re: Very minor bug in equation editor

Good catch!!

Minor, but could be evidence of something else, so best to fix even if it appears benign.

Adding these to EQN mode is not in the cards for initial release, but not impossible in a future release.

Thanks Vincent!
