Re: RTC Calibration program

I just received my new DM41X, and I’m trying to understand Section 3.8 (RTC correction) in the online manual. I’m wrestling with the sign ambiguity in the definition of “drift” and in the definition of the correction term C. I agree with your post here: I think the rtccalib.cfg value shown by the p...

Re: How to combine DMCP OS + DM42 program into combo deliverable?

Yes, that is mostly correct; here's a link to updated docs in github that explain the file format and the mystery bytes: https://github.com/swissmicros/DMCP_SDK/tree/master/keymap_utils#making-dmcppgm-combo If the end of PGM bin finishes less than 24 bytes from the next 2 KiB boundary, does it pad ...

No, the DM42 and DM41X will not be migrated to the new platform, at least not for many years, probably ever.
At least not by SM. If DM32 is based around DMCP, it might be possible for a third party to port DM42PGM to the new hardware, perhaps. (We shall see.)

This comes up about once a year, typically with relatively new users.

Thanks to the veterans for explaining... :)
There is plenty of room on the display. Perhaps it should indicate the current mode?

Rudi, skyhooks... they work great.
I have no idea what "skyhooks" are (in this context). Do you have a link?
We call them Siemens Lufthaken in German. 8-)
So it's not one of these then? :alien:

I don't know what the screen is supposed to look like in Bootloader Mode. Does sudo dfu-util -l find anything?

Re: Upgraded keypad

I am waiting on my Alcohol and Goo Be Gone. Mine came off cleanly, but I rubbed it with IPA anyway. I still have a problem with the right side of the ENTER key feeling slightly mushy compared to the left side. I might have to resort to the "stick bits of post-it notes on the right ENTER dome&q...

Re: Best way to try out WP43C/WP43S on hardware

Just wondering how most people are using WP43S/WP43C. In particular I'm wondering whether folks are sim-only or have been using picture-on-the-side or overlay stickers etc to enable using it on a DM42, which I'm considering. I use the WP43S both as a simulator and on the DM42. When I first started ...

Re: How to assess coin cell quality?

I use one of these resistance substitution boxes for testing coin cells: https://www.amazon.com/Elenco-Resistor-Substitution-Box-RS-400/dp/B00R6SOXLG Clip it to both leads of your multimeter to create a load on the battery, and see how the voltage fares in the 220-1000 Ohm range (3-14 mA current). ...
