Re: Who knows HP's keyboard fonts?
Reminds me on our analysis professor who used to tell us every once and a while "This proof is trivial - you can do it at home effortlessly." In my experience, that usually means, "I cannot remember how to do the proof, so you go away and do it so I don't have to embarrass my...

Two Clicks to Resister Enter Key
Most of the keys on my 41x work fine. If I feel a click then I know the key has been entered. However, the Enter key doesn't work unless I continue to press until I feel a second click. I have done the key flex routine and tried adjusting the two large circuit board screws but neither procedure has ...

Re: DMCP v3.16 ?
Hi, I need the DMCP version 3.15 (or better even the 3.16) libraries. The DM42 interface description is for version 03.12_015. The DM42 manual points to the source code and libraries on Gitlab , but there is only DMCP version 3.14. What documentation am I missing? Can anyone please give me the link...

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
... Regarding the "SF" legend, I think that's unique, as I've seen several machines and photos and have not seen that before. The proper spin, should you decide to sell it later, is "rare early BETA DM41X with yellow-dot" :o Yep, that's me. Why can't I be lucky like that when I ...

Re: Overlays!
Sorry... xcf? Why that file format? XCF is GIMP file native format. XCF stands for eXperimental Computing Facility (at the University of California at Berkeley) XCF files support saving layers, channels, transparency, paths and guides. Ref: Wikipedia Thanks. Sounds versatile, but complex. Useful I ...

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Mine arrived today. One question: what does the CST/CONF button do? It appears to not be registering on my unit. E.g. shift CONF does nothing and leaves the shift annunciator lit. Bad key or bad user? Pauli If it's any consolation, it does the same thing on mine. It's not in the manual either so I ...

Re: Overlays!
Obviously they won't. 8-) Since I've never seen an original 41 other than in photographs, it's not obvious to me! Even that should have been sufficient imho. YMMV Of course you'd have to cut an extra column of keys out but I can't tell if the other key spacing is the same or not. I guess it must no...

Re: Overlays!
The 41 needs keyboard overlays! I see the bezel has three small slits on either side just like the 42, but contrary to the 42, the 41 needs overlays! Geoff Yes! Would the old 41 overlays fit? Obviously they won't. 8-) Since I've never seen an original 41 other than in photographs, it's not obvious ...

Geoff
An overlay is much better than a layover!
