Re: Firmware Update (v29) on DM 15L using a MacBook Pro

I had both Brew and MacPorts installed on my last Mac for some time, never noticed a problem.

Of course, if you installed the same utility via both, some confusion may arise :)

Re: 43S News

About CPX and CPX etc.: Principally, you are free to define in mathematics whatever you want but must stick to it thereafter. Conventionally, upper and lower case letters denote different items while I don't remember any general convention covering underlining in mathematics. not necessarily releva...

Glad it's working Bob.

Sylvain's macports method should have worked just as well, though, so that is rather odd.

Re: any chance of a new font?

Hard to tell how it would look. That looks like 7x7?

The font I prefer on the DM15L seems to be 9 high x 5 wide, with space between the numbers that might allow wider chars?

Re: any chance of a new font?

The comparatively low resolution of the LCD used on the DM1x/41 does make it a bit of a challenge. thanks yes, I confused myself: initially, I thought the pixel-based DMs would be better than the clunky segments of the original units. But, of course, although pixels are more flexible, they're not n...

Re: Firmware Update (v29) on DM 15L using a MacBook Pro

cdmackay: I have been trying to use MacPorts (I installed XCode and then MacPorts). If we are not able to get things to work using MacPorts, I am certainly willing to try using HomeBrew, but as of now, I don’t have this installed. After doing what you noted, did you then type in the suggested comma...

any chance of a new font?

I was wondering: has there ever been any thought to adding new font(s) to the DM1x models? I would like to see a font more like the original HP models, e.g. an emulation of the slanted 7-segment digits from the corresponding HP-1x units. It's nice to have a choice of fonts, but I must be picky, sinc...

Re: [DM15] voyc: Compile CommodoreBASIC for HP 15-C

Thanks! I always have rootx(y), logx(y) and y mod x on my calculator, but I'm not sure what to do with the other two free buttons so I usually have random fun stuff there. What's on your calc? Nothing very exciting, I'm afraid: just logx(y) on D, and %T on E, on my DM15. Think I need to add Nth roo...

Re: Firmware Update (v29) on DM 15L using a MacBook Pro

As an aside, if you're already using HomeBrew, note that it also has lpc21isp . That's what I'm using, on Mojave, and it's working fine for me. If you're starting from scratch, you could use either HomeBrew or MacPorts, of course. mbp2018 $ brew info lpc21isp lpc21isp: stable 1.97 (bottled) In-circu...
