It looks like Result 2 is the real part of the complex number in polar coordinates. That would correspond to the vector magnitude, and the imaginary part not shown is the phase angle.

FWIW, my adapter is an HP model 82241A, and it’s output is 9V AC 13.5VA MAX, which would correspond to 1.5A (1500mA). It does seem to print a bit faster on the AC adapter than on batteries.
