Now for a few quick benchmarks between beta 00065 and 00043.
Running 10,000 iterations of BENCH takes an identical 1'49" between 3.5 and 3.7.1.

Excellent!

Re: DM42 License Statement

Thanks for this update Michael, good news that the refactoring/redesign is completed! I suspect the instructions you posted will work as stated once the DMCP layer has been installed, but with the prior style f/w, nothing is automatically detected, at least on my machine (production unit with v3.5 ...

Re: Free42 POSA issue

I already saw the update in the Apple store. That’s a quick turnaround time. I was under the impression that it took months to get updates released with Apple. No, it was never *that* bad. When I first released Free42 for iOS, in 2009, it took two weeks. Then they got it down to one week, and latel...

@grsbanks - Will there be a file-based (like previous .zip files) version of this latest help file, to update the machines?

Re: Landscape DM42?

Methinks the ENTER key should be shifted one row to the right, next to the numeric keys. Anybody else? I disagree. Keeping this layout--with the Enter key in its current place--would allow SW to reuse the existing Voyager case hardware. It also maintains the aesthetic of the Voyager layout to which...

For the annunciators, how about this:

Lower line: shift, degrees, rad, grad (the latter three compete for the same space).
Much better than Pi and Gamma. Since the original 42s has no degree annunciator, I think it is unnecessary.

Re: Landscape DM42?

Do you really need x: and y: displayed? What could be done with that space? Just food for thought ... ;) Up, Down, Shift and RAD indicators. The entire area can be used for the Running and Printing indicators. Grads? Maybe drop the right leg of the Greek letter Pi to make an uppercase Gamma--Gamma ...
