Re: 43S News

A keyplate label turned out being dispensable, so we may have some hole conduction eventually leading to STATUS showing up: . emulx1.PNG The picture says more than a thousand words and I like the Status that arrived. It is essential. It does look like it is overwhelming the space above x<>y though....

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

UNIT removed from g[5]. Left BLANK. INFO g[7] swapped with VIEW g[.]. How are these changes? Comments? For the moment I would retain (additional?) UNIT at g[ 5 ]. VIEW is a function and not a menu. I think that was the reason why VIEW found its position on g[ 0 ] respectively g[ . ]. Probably most ...

Re: DM42 skin for the Free42 simulator

The WP34S iPhone app seems to be done with Qt. https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-5524-post-49234.html#pid49234 As this is another calculator simulator project which works on more than one platform, maybe Pascal Meheut can be contacted to comment on iOS issues he may have experienced, with this k...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

I did the same changes above to Layout2. SAVE removed from g[1] and is now on the I/O menu. ASSIGN ASN on [1] as per Layout 1B. The menu is now on blue. UNIT removed from g[5]. Left BLANK. What can we do there? INFO g[7] swapped with VIEW g[.] for two reasons: 1. I use the emulator L1B a lot and I f...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

I'm thinking out loud again. Aren't the functions in CLK more CONV functions? Can "s->year" and "year->s" from UNIT also go to CONV? They are a combination of setup type and conversion type functions. Conversions on the first page and setup on the second. I agree those year/second conversions could...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

... So you could keep ALPHA (g[ 4 ]) or ASN (g[ 1 ]) free until a new menu comes up which is still looking for a place. EDIT: Or CFG, but does it need this menu directly on a key? My ASN calls my ASN menu. This will be different from 43S’s effort for ASSIGN. I like our way of providing packages for...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

Hi Since the previous release of Layout 1A, we have not changed it. Last week, we added the x-th root of y instead of d.ms, and the replacement of SAVE with BASE. Therefore we should rename after these changes today. So, for the new revised Layout (1B): That is a good idea, swapping those BASE & CLK...

Re: 43S News

How do we enter a longint once you are in shorting last base mode? The OM p132 is not clear on this. RESET 7#8 ENTER, produces 7 base 8 in X and Y. 4 ENTER, produces 4 base 8 in X and Y. I cannot find a way out, except to type 1. [<-] [<-] Is this the only way? No, it isn't. Please see footnote 116...

Re: 43S News

You are right ! But it's only 2 minutes. So it's done. Your method is a lot more elegant, so I ditched my method and used yours. But I shortened the lines again, because I don't like the long diagonals reaching corner to corner on some screens and also I prefer the inverting of the pixels ;-) Best J
