Re: Free42 POSA issue

There is a bug in POSA that makes it not find the searched-for string if its only occurrence is at the very end of the alpha register. I'll fix this in 2.0.15. I already saw the update in the Apple store. That’s a quick turnaround time. I was under the impression that it took months to get updates ...

RTC or timer?

Does the microcontroller in the DM42 have a RTC in it, or are the date/time based on a timer?
I'm not having any issues, I'm jsut curious. The HP-41 is the first calc that I've used that has a RTC in it (if you have the time module, that is).

Re: Wish List - sub forum?

As mentioned in another thread already, I vote for a separate sub-forum for such wishes, i.e. for features beyond the present function set of the 42. This may become a pool wherein SM may fish for a hypothetical future calculator ... ;) Who has admin rights to create Sub Forums? Gsrbanks, or only M...

Re: Wish List - sub forum?

I could be wrong, but I think grsbanks is acting as Michael and David's ear to the ground. You're absolutely right :) As a general rule of thumb, the idea is to keep patches to Free42 to a minimum. Some patching has been necessary to drive the hardware. If a feature that people are showing an inter...

Wish List - sub forum?

Should there be a separate sub forum for a Wish List?
I only have 1 suggestion at the moment, and I know it's been mentioned in other posts.

However, I don't know if SM is formally monitoring/accepting change requests/feature requests at the moment.

What do you think?

I'm just not sure of the procedure to recreate the USB filesystem.
Shift SETUP > System > Format FAT Disk
Thanks, I found it in the manual.
I’m surprised that the file system is so easily destroyed, especially when copying an offing.

The dozing owl IS the default image until you've loaded something different.
Yes, but without a file system, other images can’t be loaded.
The other images were the, until an image copy operation hung, and wiped out everything.

This thread recollects the numerous graphic calcs in high school most times just used for playing instead of doing math.
One we get an in-place programmable picture viewer, email comes next, online banking, web browsing, and Amazon & Netflix clients ;-)

I confess: I'm doing ON/OFF sequence more times to see drawn OFF Images to appear: too nice! :-)

Salvo
Can the images be displayed via a program?
I'd like to sequence through them after a 5 second delay, as opposed to turning power on and off.

DM42 hung during img copy, USB file system erased

I was trying to copy 3 bmp files to the OFFIMG directory, from a Windows 7 64-Bit laptop. The copy process tovery long, so I knew something was wrong. FIle Explorer just hung, I couldn't kill the process easily. The DM42 still showed the "USB WriteMode" screen, press EXIT key to end was still visibl...
