Re: DM42- clock losing time

Since time functions are included in the DM42, a crystal would be very useful to make them accurate. Maybe there's a way to add one ourselves as there was in the HP-45. That calculator had undocumented timer and stopwatch functions but no crystal so the accuracy was terrible. Someone came up with a...

Re: DM42- clock losing time

Thanks. It doesn’t make me feel better, but at least it’s confirmation it’s not just my DM-42 experiencing this.
It’s a shame they didn’t add a crystal. The additional cost would have been worth it.

DM42- clock losing time

I hadn't used my DM42 for a few months. When I pulled it out of the drawer, turned it on and compared the time on the DM-42 display, to my comptuer's time (which is the reference I used when I first set the time on the DM42), the time on the DM42 was off by several minutes. I don't remember if it wa...

Re: Problem with V26 FW update

I've just tried updating the FW on my DM41, unsuccessfully. After pressing the program button on the updater tool and pressing the reset button, I could see the updater tool progress bar moving, After a minute or so I saw MEMORY LOST on the calculator (which I assume is normal), but there were no p...

DM-41L - LCD adjustment not working

I"ve just updated the FW to V26 and tried to adjust the LCD. When I hold CHS and turn power on, the LCD adjust menu is displayed, but the calc doesn't respond to any of the + - 3 (etc) keys. IS anyone else having this problem? https://www.swissmicros.com/instructions.php It looks like someone forgot...

DM42 licensing thread from HPmuseum.org

I’m surprised that no one here is talking about this.

Re: PRLCD with new graphical modes

Now, if you could just assign “saving the screen to an image” to a blank key, instead of going through the menus. Which menus? To save a screenshot of the LCD you just have to press simultaneously Shift + DISP. My bad. I was thinking of the load/save program menu. I keep forgetting about Shift+Disp.

Re: PRLCD with new graphical modes

Maybe SwissMicros next project should be high resolution IR inkjet printer. Just save a screenshot of your lcd display, transfer it to your PC, then print it from there. This way you’ll always have hard and soft copies of that image, without needing to dump it or a printer. This is much more straig...

Re: DM42 hung during img copy, USB file system erased

Also make sure you're running the latest firmware (V3.4a). A fix was put into V3.4 to eliminate these spurious crashes and gain a bit of execution speed, and V3.4a was released almost immediately afterwards to correct a bug that had crept in making it impossible to alter the mute setting. I think t...
