Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

Based on past behavior, it is highly likely I would wish to purchase one.

Re: Sunrise/Sunset

Nick, Sorry for the delayed reply, I don't visit this forum as often as I used to. First, you do not need to adjust the GMT offset entry on line 22 to account for DST. The program handles DST automatically assuming the GMT offset is based on the offset to standard time, which is -5 for Eastern Stand...

Re: Sunrise/Sunset

At some point I realized that I would get flaky results if I tried to do multiple days in one "session", e.g., press "SUN", press "TODAY" for today's times, then key in a date and press "ANY" for some random date, etc. I think it must have been a problem with ...

At least for me I want to save the program most of the time, which I did created just before,
which is the last one and at the bottom of the list.

So I have to scroll down the complete list each time.
Perhaps “Page Down” (Pg_Dn) and “Page Up” (Pg_Up) commands would also be helpful?

Re: Need help with DM42 pictures

I've always used the GIMP Start by converting to greyscale at the required resolution of 400x240, then convert to 1-bit depth with Floyd-Steinberg dithering and you'll get pretty good results. So it is best to convert to grayscale before converting to 1-bit depth? I tend to start with whatever imag...

Re: Off Image Display Order

Thanks to ijabott and Thomas for explaining. Agreed, thanks for the help and information. Regarding wearing out the flash, you are probably correct, I will never wear it out and should not worry. But then I think, “if I did 10 flash-wearing operations per day, and the flash is good for 100,000 oper...

Re: Off Image Display Order

I think you can force a particular display order by deleting all the files in the OFFIMG folder and adding them back one at a time in the order you want them to be displayed. To save flash wear, it would be better to rename the OFFIMG folder to OLDIMG, create a new OFFIMG folder, and move (not copy...

Off Image Display Order

Does anyone know on what the DM42 bases the order in which it cycles through the Off Images? I guess I would have expected alphabetical, but the 36 images I have in my DM42 display in the following order relative to alphabetical: 34, 7, 8, 10, 11, 22, 12, 20, 25, 33... (i.e., the image that would be...

Re: WIN10 Driver Installation

Fire up the device manager, connect the DM42 and put it into bootloader mode. If you find an "STM Device un DFU Mode" in the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" branch then you have to reinstall the drivers. That is exactly what I found. Put windows in "allow unsigned driver...

Re: WIN10 Driver Installation

Yup. Fire up the device manager, connect the DM42 and put it into bootloader mode. If you find an "STM Device un DFU Mode" in the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" branch then you have to reinstall the drivers. Thanks, I will check this tonight. I’m thinking it must be gone, as...
