Re: Dave Jones (EEVBLOG) tries the DM42

What value did you had in the X-register when you launched RFC?

I have not tested RFC on my DM42, but I did test it on Free42 and it is working with for ex. 15 or 19 as the start value.

Re: What do all those bots here?

Indexing for search engines I suppose...

I don't think they are really looking for DM42 tips, well maybe Alexa, to be able to answer to anybody yelling in his kitchen: "how much pounds of flour do I need for my pancakes?"
with "let me pull my DM42 and do the calculation for you"

Re: Feature requests

... REM "comment" RCL+ 17 ... In a keystroke programming model you would have: step xxx REM step xxx+1 "comment" step xxx+2 RCL+ 17 The new REM instruction would just skip the next step to avoid putting the comment string in the Alpha register. You can already do this with: step xxx FS? 52 step xxx...

I'd vote for inline comments - something like
...
RCL+17 /* comment
...
allowing for commenting each step.
How would you implement this in a keystroke programming model such as the 42S one? /* would obviously be translated to divide and multiply instructions...

Anthills are not silent: Relaxing Sound of Ants Building Anthill, Birds Singing.
Here I don't hear any stick being moved around.

Re: How to enter a right pointing triangle into a string in prgm mode?

The DM42 encoder/decoder is a good place to create such strings.
For example enter in the listing windows:

Code: Select all

01▸LBL "TST"
02 "A▸B"
03 AVIEW
04 STOP
Encode and dowload the .raw to your DM42 (or Free42).

Re: DM42- clock losing time

I concur. Does anybody know the pins where a quartz could be added to make precise timing possible? As far as I can see on my DM42 there is already a 32.768KHz quartz (or oscillator) loaded (Q1). So I think that improving the accuracy may be done in software using some of the techniques described i...

Re: 8 Level Stack?

This is already available on the WP 34S: each program/subroutine can allocate from 1 to 144 local registers and doing so get access to 16 local flags named .00 to .15

Re: Statistic

It seems that you don't have enough registers available. If you do RCL REGS what is the size of the REGS matrix in X? You can allocate more registers with the SIZE function (shift MODES down arrow) For example SIZE 0025 should be enough. Another possibility is that you have inadvertently deleted the...

So, finally had some time to draw this modules port expander:
What kind of modules are you considering ? What would be the hardware interface to the DM42? How would they be supported in the DM42 software?
