Re: Printing freeze

And the other issue I'm getting is that the 82240B printer itself sometimes freezes - seems to be prevalent in trace or norm modes. See attached screenshot - notice the black block that gets emitted immediately prior to the freeze. The red light on the front of the printer goes out and I have to tu...

Re: Serial port

On the PCB are hole for a serial port (TX/RX/GND). I'm pretty sure this is or was for development reasons and/or installing a boot loader. Anyone tried this out, soldering pins and connecting with a PC? The levels are probably TTL rather than true RS-232 levels. If you connect a TTL serial port to ...

Re: [DM15 M1B V25] % produces incorrect results

100 ENTER 10 % produces 1.0000 45 ENTER 10 % also produces 1.0000 10 ENTER 3 % produces 0.4771 50 ENTER 100 % produces 2.0000 Just an observation: it appears that your results are actually the LOG of the second argument (the value in X). Do you also have problems with y^x? Perhaps your keys aren't ...

Re: 82240 use?

3.1) If Swiss Micros did make their own clone printer, would it be possible for it to have USB support and compatibility with the DM-41[L]? I wish SM would make one but I don't think it would be feasible from a monetary standpoint. Although I wouldn't buy a calculator that had no printing support, ...

Re: February run of DM-42

IIRC, Ray Bradbury was already an author some 50 years ago. So it can't be true you made him. ;)  Sure he did. Mr. Bradbury is dead. He's now referred to as the late Ray Bradbury. Guess who made him late? I don't understand that question. Didn't edcetera tell us he made him late b...

Re: buttons that don't register well

My personal preference is for Casio-style keyboards - no "click" feedback, but 100% reliable in use. And to think folk mocked my preference for landscape form factor! C'mon Keith, that'd be like shooting fish in a barrel. ;) Just to add to the Sturm und Drang, I'd like to see a buckling spring keyb...

I'd need a color screen, though! That's feature creep no more, that's feature rush!  Heh heh! Not to worry. The 12 GHz, 512-core processor tha...

This thread recollects the numerous graphic calcs in high school most times just used for playing instead of doing math. One we get an in-place programmable picture viewer, email comes next, online banking, web browsing, and Amazon & Netflix clients ;-) Yes! I'd need a color screen, though!
