Re: C47 TVM
I think this feature would be handy. I agree with the reset values. It would also be appropriate to select the default End option, which is more common.

Re: C47 TVM
I'm comfortable with the abbreviations you suggest.
Thanks again for helping to improve the TVM calculations.

Re: C47 TVM
I like the way you've arranged the menu. Although I didn't see the need for it, seeing the values entered for the different variables is handy. For my part, I'll lighten the names of certain variables, as was done for the HP-12c, HP-48G, Prime and several others. Systematically adding the term perio...

Re: C47 TVM
1. Personally, I don't feel the need. The number of periods can be 300 and take up more space in the box, and payments can easily translate into more than 6 digits. The data seems too variable for the benefit obtained. 2. /a works for me, it can stand for "an" in French. On the other hand,...

Re: C47 TVM
Nigel, thank you very much for taking the time to add this parameter to the TVM application. I've just tried it out and, as you say, the calculations are perfectly accurate. Calculating monthly payments on the calculator is much quicker than with the old version. Once again, thank you for improving ...

Re: C47 TVM
Yes Nigel, the number of compounding periods per year could initially be the same as the number of payments. This is usually the case with personal loans. In the case of a mortgage that requires a different interest compounding period, this value could be modified, as with the HP-Prime. Your proposa...

Re: C47 TVM
I've just realized that it's much simpler in this case to use the formula
im={[(0,06/2)+1]^1/6}-1
im=0.493862
Sorry for the detour.

Re: C47 TVM
Yes Nigel, this formula is correct although I don't divide the result by Pa, I prefer to have the interest rate expressed annually. It doesn't make much difference to the calculations as long as consistency is maintained. This formula must be applied twice. The first time to find the effective annua...

Re: C47 TVM
Thank you Jaco for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it. Indeed, as you mention, I'm not familiar with these procedures. Besides, I don't program in C. As soon as I have a few minutes to spare, I'll document my request properly. For the record, this request stems from the fact that, when...
